We all heard it
As soon as the train pulled out of the station
A loud braying
Something in pain
Mnnnnuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrr
At some point a donkey had become trapped
Beneath the train
And every two minutes
Its face
Legs
Arms
Hind
Got wrapped up
In the undercarriage
The wiring
The teeth
And cables
And it cried out
As only a donkey
Trapped beneath
A high speed train knows how
The poor bastard
Must have been there
All the way from the coast
And would probably make it all the way
Into the city
Only not in one piece
Either that
Or the train was faulty
And something was about to bend
Break
Snap
Buckle
And the train would jack-knife
Off the rails
And into a field
Or some houses
And we would all die
For my sake
I hoped it was a donkey.
